About Event
Indonesia through the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection is proud to host the 4th AMMW (ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women), related meetings and side events virtually from 5-15 October 2021 with the theme of Digital Economy and Financial Inclusion for Improving ASEAN Women’s Competitiveness. With the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, mutual respect and cooperation in mind, we urge regional endeavors to build back communities while addressing the significant challenges of inequalities to make women and girls better represented in the global recovery efforts from COVID-19.

20th ACW Meeting
ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW). ACW is a subsidiary body of the AMMW composed of senior officials in the respective ministries in-charge of women and girls. The ACW supports AMMW by recommending regional policies, developing and implementing the five-year regional work plan, and managing partnerships.
23rd ACWC Meeting
The ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC)
4th AMMW Meeting
ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women (AMMW). Composed of ministers in-charge of women and girls in all ASEAN Member States, the AMMW sets the strategic policy direction on ASEAN’s regional cooperation on women. The AMMW is under the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Pillar.
13th ACW+3 Meeting
ACW Plus Three. This is an annual meeting of the ACW with the Plus Three Countries namely China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, and serves as a regular platform for exchanging policies and good practices on the empowerment of women and girls.
8th ACWC-ACW
Consultation Meeting
This consultative meeting serves as a platform for the ACW and the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) to synergise their efforts on areas of mutual interest, as well as purposively facilitate partnerships on complementing issues such as gender mainstreaming, gender and climate change, and non-gender stereotyping, among others.

The ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women (AMMW) aims to determine policies for the protection of women in ASEAN and support the decisions of the ACWC and ACW reports. Efforts to build ASEAN involvement, as a region, in women’s issues began at the ASEAN Women’s Leaders Conference held in 1975.
This year, the 4th edition of AMMW will be held in Indonesia at October 11-15th 2021 with the theme “Digital Economy and Financial Inclusion for Improving ASEAN Women’s Competitiveness”.
